We're Off

We are on our way. Susan is here with some good friends in Phoenix. We made it out of Tucson finally. We headed to Lagea's house in LA and spent a couple days with them. Great time!

Things that make you go . . . hhmmm . . . aauugghh!

It is like the neverending story around here. We have been packing for weeks and it seems as though it will never be done. We were supposed to begin our roadtrip this morning but we are still here. We think we will be able to leave tomorrow, but what was supposed to be a 6 hour round trip run to Phoenix for Matt has turned into a 10 hour trip. So we will see if we can complete the task by tomorrow morning. Our family loves roadtrips so we are all chomping at the bit to get on the road! Please pray that it will be possible tomorrow!

Last week I reported that the house had sold. It is back on the market. Last week when the inspectors showed up, we had a crazy morning. Anna had a virus which caused her to be sick all over the carpet, etc. And then Emily fainted. Weird. After a few doctors appointments and a visit to a cardiologist for Em everyone has a clean bill of health . . . except the house. The people backed out of the sell. Please pray for this house to sell.

The House Sold!

We are excited that the house sold! God's timing is perfect! Inspection issues should be completed by the 11th and we leave on the 12th to begin our summer roadtrip! Please pray as we have had some health issues with the kids this week. Please pray they will be resolved before we leave.

Raccoons!!

In the middle of getting ready to move, selling the house, packing for France, etc we have also become wildlife catch & release experts (lol). A couple of months ago we heard loud noises on the roof of the house. We thought an animal was in the attic so we hired a man to come take a look around. He crawled through the attic and searched the roof and could not find one piece of evidence of an animal living here. He did say there seemed to be a hole leading to a place accessible from the roof but not the attic and something could be living there. So he left, pretty much thinking we were hearing things. So I stayed up late one night and watched. Sure enough 2 raccoons climbed down around midnight from the roof. To make a long story shorter, we were so excited when we caught the second raccoon this weekend!! Praise God!! We caught them just in time for the house to be sold! And they won't wake us up in the middle of the night any longer!! They were so cute as you can see by the picture, but a little vicious.

A Father's Wound

I knew of a man who had a childhood one rarely speaks of. The kind of childhood where the pain of reality is too great to discuss. The wound...
