Kids are hysterical.
Sunday our oldest announced that Monday will be pajama day at her school. Our middle child is homeschooled and our youngest is just 4. Because our middle girl misses out on these fun school events, she announced that Monday would also be pajama day at her school and asked me to show up to the office in the morning in my pj's. Both our girls woke up Monday morning and dec
ided pajamas to school were just not cool.
Our son woke up after his sisters and by this time we had all forgotten about pajama day. I happened to be on the phone when he came running out of the bedroom still slipping into a clean set of pj's with his hair standing on end in many different directions, I told him it was morning and to get clothes on, he replied cheerfully, "It's pajama day!" He followed that with, "Mom, I don't have to comb my hair today!" I asked him why, he said, "Tomorrow is crazy hair day!"
Later on, while still sporting his clean pj's but 2-day old socks, he followed me outside to do some weeding in the beautiful back yard. He began to tell me about a bug he had just seen. He said, "I saw a chatterby." (This is the same boy who ran to me terrified one afternoon and told me there was a crab under his bed - it turned out to be a ladybug.) After some confusion and clarifying questions, I figured out he was referring to a mosquito. He laughed at his own inability to say "mosquito". He said laughingly, "I can't say it, but I CAN say 'heeelllloooo' and 'daddy' and . . ."
what a goofball. they bring such joy. some parents like when breaks are over & they can send their kids back to school. this is too much fun ~ i like having them around as often as possible!!
