I'm preaching on Acts 21:1-26 this Sunday. Called "Fear of the known" or "Live for Christ or die trying." Basically Paul is going to Jerusalem because God wants him to go but the future looks grim. A prophet and Phillips daughters prophecy that Paul will be bound up and thrown into prison. In "The Message" in verse 13-16 it says that Paul told the people weeping about his departure that the issue is not what they will do to me in Jerusalem but the issue is what will Christ do in Jerusalem because of my obedience.
"What will Christ do because of our obedience." It is about passion in our lives and I am sking for prayer because I seem to have lost some of my passion.
Hope,
Matt

Scripture tells us God would rather have our obedience than sacrifice. O.T. Consequently, He must hold obedience in high esteem.
We are also told He wants us to have passion. He doesn't want us to be lukewarm. He will "spew us out of his mouth " if we are lukewarm. N.T.
Ortberg's book "If You Want to Walk on Water You Have to Get Out of the Boat" is excellent in this area.
Most importantly we are praying for God's anointing on you, and for open hearts and minds ( "we are changed by the renewing of our minds"). You will be led by Him and the Holy Spirit will do His work. It's just the way it works.

If you want to remain anonymous, you ought to consider not signing your name, Dad.
Never been anonymous in my life.
Dad
so....did you find your passion?
I am working on that passion. God is working on this 34 year old heart.
Peace,
Matt
